Crowns
If your tooth is beyond repair with a filling material, we may recommend that the best viable option to save the tooth is a full crown. There are many reasons why this may be the best choice for you to save your tooth. These reasons can include general decay that is too extensive for a traditional filling to restore, cracked fillings, cracked teeth, root canals, teeth grinding, and many others. A crown is very durable, has great cosmetic appearance, and supports the overall chewing function.
Types of Crowns
If we decide that you are in need of a full crown, there are a few different options for the repair of your tooth. These options include a full porcelain crown, a porcelain fused to gold crown, or a full gold crown. We will make the determination as to which of these options is the most appropriate for your situation. A porcelain crown can be made by Dr. Ellis in a single visit with our CEREC machine.
